TrueCheck Criminal Record CheckCriminal records are maintained by the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC), a centralized facility managed by the RCMP in Ottawa, and shared by local Police and RCMP across the country. Back in 2003, CLPNNS required all individuals applying for initial licensure to the College to provide a criminal records check; also, any reinstating LPNs (who have not practised in the preceding five years) to submit a criminal records check. Each year, all LPNs applying for renewal must report past criminal offences and/or ongoing disciplinary proceedings. A CPIC check can be obtained in less than 24 hours through TRUE CHECK, a web based service located through the CLPNNS web site at a cost of $30.00/HST. For approximately the same fee, CPIC checks can also be obtained through local Police or RCMP detachments. If the member decides to obtain the criminal record check directly through www.truecheck.ca it will cost $37.00/HST. |
